Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray on Friday welcomed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's release on bail, seizing the moment to criticize those who fractured the Shiv Sena in 2022.
In a social media post, Thackeray proclaimed the triumph of truth over politics, expressing his happiness at seeing Kejriwal ready to fight for democracy and the Constitution again.
Thackeray took a swipe at those he termed 'coward gaddaars,' contrasting them with leaders like Kejriwal who choose to fight for the truth. He made a pointed reference to the rebellion led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde that dismantled the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in 2022.
Kejriwal walked free from Tihar Jail on Friday after the Supreme Court granted him bail in an ongoing CBI case linked to an alleged excise policy scam. Kejriwal had spent 155 days in detention. His release was met with a warm reception from party leaders and supporters, who braved heavy rains in Delhi to celebrate his freedom.
