In a dramatic turn of events, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal walked out of Tihar Jail on Friday, vowing to continue his battle against 'anti-national' forces attempting to destabilize the nation. The release has only solidified his resolve, he declared in his first remarks.
Kejriwal's release, sanctioned by the Supreme Court after five months' incarceration in the Delhi excise policy case, was met with massive celebrations despite the inclement weather. AAP leaders and supporters thronged outside the prison, echoing chants of support.
While AAP hailed the court's decision as a vindication, calling for an apology from BJP, the latter insisted that Kejriwal should step down, labeling him as a still-accused 'chief minister on bail'. Kejriwal's freedom is expected to galvanize AAP's campaign in Haryana and upcoming Delhi elections.
