The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday insisted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) owes an apology to the nation for keeping their 'staunchly honest' leader Arvind Kejriwal in jail. They asserted that the Supreme Court's decision to grant bail in the excise policy case laid bare the BJP's 'lies', while labelling CBI and ED as its 'tota-maina'.

The bail is seen as a substantial boost for AAP, which is trying to expand its influence in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir in the forthcoming elections, and aims to maintain its hold on power in Delhi, with elections due early next year. Celebrations erupted at the AAP headquarters with party leaders and workers distributing sweets and bursting firecrackers in reaction to the news.

Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia addressed reporters, proclaiming that the Supreme Court's observations clearly reveal the BJP's misuse of CBI and ED to keep Kejriwal behind bars as part of a larger conspiracy. Meanwhile, BJP demanded Kejriwal's resignation, questioning his ability to fulfill his duties given the bail conditions, further fueling the political controversy.
