Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has declared that the Dalit community, alongside the Republican Party of India, will start a nationwide protest against Rahul Gandhi. This move comes after Gandhi suggested that reservations could be reconsidered once India becomes 'fair,' during a conversation at Georgetown University.

Athawale, also the president of the Republican Party of India, strongly condemned Gandhi's remarks, stating that the reservations for Dalits, OBC, and Aadivasi communities are untouchable and any attempt to revoke them will be met with firm resistance. He even suggested that shoes should be thrown at Gandhi in protest.

The Union Minister further criticized Gandhi's tendency to disparage India during foreign trips, questioning his claims about the lack of democracy in the country. Athawale also accused Gandhi of exposing the anti-Dalit stance of Congress and vowed that marginalized communities would teach him a lesson. Athawale made these statements while attending a seminar in Dharamshala organized by the World Cooperatives Economic Forum.
