Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and his Haryana counterpart Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday condoled the death of CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, marking a significant loss in Indian politics.
Yechury, aged 72, passed away at AIIMS in Delhi following a prolonged illness. His critical condition saw him on respiratory support in recent days.
Expressing grief on social media platform X, Punjab CM Mann described Yechury's death as a tremendous loss to the country's political landscape, extending heartfelt tributes and condolences to his family and colleagues. Echoing similar sentiments, Haryana CM Saini termed the demise an irreparable loss to Indian politics.
