Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday filed his nomination as the BJP candidate from the Ladwa constituency, gearing up for the upcoming assembly elections in the state. The event was attended by Union Minister and former CM Manohar Lal Khattar, among other party leaders.
Addressing the media, Saini confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Haryana on September 14 for election campaigning. He expressed confidence in the BJP's chances, predicting the establishment of a 'double-engine' government in Haryana for the third consecutive term. 'The public's love and support in Ladwa is overwhelming,' Saini stated, expressing gratitude after filing his nomination. 'The entire town was out to show their blessings, ensuring a strong mandate for the BJP,' he added.
Union Minister Khattar highlighted that the BJP is in the process of finalizing its candidate list, having already announced names for 67 out of 90 assembly constituencies. 'The process started on September 5 and is ongoing. We aim to declare all names soon,' Khattar stated confidently. 'I believe BJP will lead the state for the third time, as Congress nears defeat,' he declared.
Earlier in the day, CM Saini inaugurated a new BJP office in Ladwa, participating in havan rituals and acknowledging the public's support. The Haryana legislative assembly elections are slated for October 5, with nominations closing on September 12 and vote counting on October 8.
In a recent update, the Election Commission of India revised the polling date for Haryana's elections from October 1 to October 5, and moved the counting date from October 4 to October 8.
