Dhankhar's comments follow the BJP's accusations against Gandhi for meeting with US lawmakers known for their anti-India stance. Addressing participants of the Rajya Sabha Internship Programme, Dhankhar expressed his distress over individuals in positions of power lacking understanding of national interests and the Constitution.
Highlighting the country's historical sacrifices for freedom, the vice president stressed that every Indian abroad should act as an ambassador, condemning actions contrary to this principle. He criticized Gandhi's comments about India's territorial issues with China, reinforcing the need for unity and national integrity.
