On Tuesday, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurated the BJP's new membership drive at the party's state headquarters, with state unit president Rajib Bhattacharjee attending the event.

This state-level initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's nationwide membership drive launched in Delhi on Monday, which also saw participation from BJP President JP Nadda.

Chief Minister Saha revealed the ambitious target of enrolling 12 lakh new members in Tripura alone. He renewed his membership using a mobile app and underscored the broader national objective of enrolling 10 crore new members in the first phase.

Reflecting on the 2019 membership drive during which 1.24 lakh members were enrolled in Tripura, Saha noted that the current membership stands at 6.50 lakh. He expressed confidence in achieving the new target of 12 lakh members.

He urged people to join the BJP as primary members to contribute to national development and mentioned that training sessions have been organized to streamline the membership process.

To ensure the success of the drive, BJP state general secretary Bhagaban Das has been appointed as the in-charge of the membership process.
