BJP MP and ex-Union Minister Anurag Thakur launched a fierce criticism against the Congress party, holding its government responsible for economic decline and poor law enforcement in Himachal Pradesh. He commended BJP's achievements in Jammu and Kashmir post-Article 370 abrogation, saying, 'The dictatorial Congress and the deteriorating law and order situation have destroyed the economy, laws, and schemes.' Thakur also accused the Himachal Pradesh government of silencing Hindu organizations, mentioning the use of lathi charges and water cannons during peaceful protests.

Thakur further alleged that Congress harbors an 'anti-Sanatan mentality,' claiming the 'voice of Hindus' in Himachal Pradesh is being suppressed. He voiced his disappointment, stating, 'It is unfortunate that Hindu organizations were crushed in the *devi bhoomi* (holy land) of Himachal Pradesh today.' Shifting focus to Jammu and Kashmir, he praised the BJP's proactive steps in announcing election candidates and emphasized the region's improved situation post-Article 370 removal, highlighting reduced terrorism and increased peace.

Thakur elaborated on the positive changes in Jammu and Kashmir, noting a 70% drop in terrorist incidents and the end of stone-pelting. He claimed the Congress-imposed Article 370 led to the deaths of '45,000 people' by terrorists. Addressing the crowd, he stated, 'Today, any of you citizens can go there, drink coffee, stay, do shopping. This is Bharatiya Janata Party. Peace, development, prosperity.' Returning to Himachal Pradesh, he accused the Congress government of severe financial mismanagement, pointing out the state's crippling debt. He criticized Rahul Gandhi, alleging that he travels abroad solely to tarnish India's image.
