The BJP on Wednesday strongly criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his meeting with US lawmaker Ilhan Omar and others during his visit to the United States, alleging that Gandhi is engaging in 'dangerous and mischievous' activities by reaching out to individuals known for their anti-India positions.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters, national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi condemned Gandhi's actions, noting that Gandhi has progressed from 'childish activities' to seriously harmful behavior. 'It is the first time in India's history that a Leader of Opposition has met a declared anti-India lawmaker and expressed positive sentiments,' said Trivedi, pointing to Omar's controversial history.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also weighed in, criticizing Gandhi for 'spewing venom' against India during his US visit. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey highlighted Omar's support for Khalistani and Kashmiri separatism, further intensifying the accusations against Gandhi.
