US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has accused his Democratic rival Kamala Harris of "hating" Israel, suggesting that the Jewish state would not exist within two years if she became president.

Trump's remarks came during a contentious televised debate with Harris on Tuesday in Pennsylvania. He asserted that the Israel-Hamas war would never have started if he had been president.

"She wouldn't even meet with Netanyahu when he went to Congress to make a very important speech. She refused to be there. She hates Israel,'' Trump claimed.

In her defense, Harris, a lifelong supporter of Israel, refuted Trump's accusations during the debate, emphasizing Israel's right to defend itself after Hamas's October 7 massacre. Harris advocated for a ceasefire and a two-state solution for lasting peace and security for both Israelis and Palestinians.
