Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Monday that Israeli troops would continue to occupy the Philadelphi corridor, located at the southern edge of the Gaza Strip. This area remains a significant obstacle in finalizing a deal to end the ongoing conflict in Gaza and secure the return of hostages.
'The axis of evil needs the Philadelphi corridor, and for that reason, we must control the Philadelphi corridor,' Netanyahu stated during a news conference in Jerusalem.
His remarks underscore the strategic importance placed on this territory amidst the broader geopolitical tensions and humanitarian concerns in the region.
