In a shocking turn of events, former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh has alleged that Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is attempting to orchestrate his arrest with the assistance of central agencies, including the CBI and the ED.

Deshmukh took to social media platform X to claim that the CBI has filed an FIR against him, prompted by Fadnavis, concerning a four-year-old case. The case alleges that Deshmukh, while serving as home minister, pressured a police officer in Jalgaon to act against BJP leader Girish Mahajan.

Deshmukh condemned the alleged vendetta, stating, "Devendra Fadnavis is lowering the standards of Maharashtra politics, using central agencies to target his opponents. I am ready for my arrest," he posted. Officials noted the FIR follows a two-year preliminary enquiry originating from evidence submitted by Fadnavis, accusing Deshmukh of conspiring to entrap BJP members.
