In a compelling statement, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge declared that there is no retirement in politics, urging politicians to serve till their last breath. Kharge's remarks came during the launch of senior Congress leader Sushil Kumar Shinde's memoir, 'Five Decades in Politics.'
Kharge highlighted that the 83-year-old Shinde should not see himself as retired, emphasizing his crucial role in strengthening the Congress party. He invoked historical figures like Morarji Desai, who served as India's prime minister at 81, to illustrate his point.
Kharge underlined that this relentless political work should be a gift to the people and the party, not for personal gain. He lauded Shinde's positive demeanor and dedicated service, contrasting it with today's more boastful political environment.
