The Madhya Pradesh Congress announced on Monday that it would initiate a Kisan Nyay Yatra across the state starting September 10, with demonstrations planned for September 20, to protest against the BJP-led state government for not fulfilling promises made to farmers.

State Congress president Jitu Patwari claimed to reporters that the BJP has failed to deliver on its promises regarding the minimum support price (MSP) for crops. Patwari said the Kisan Nyay Yatra will commence from Mandsaur on Tuesday, with similar marches to be held in Hoshangabad on September 13 and Agar Malwa on September 15. The party plans to stage protests at district collectors' offices statewide.

Former Chief Ministers Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh, former leader of opposition Ajay Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha, and other leaders will participate in the yatra across different districts. Patwari criticized Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for making numerous statements about doubling farmers' income while failing to deliver on those promises. He questioned the lack of an announced MSP for key crops and highlighted the stagnant soybean prices as evidence of broken promises.
