Haryana's polling is set for October 5, with the vote count on October 8. Phogat's supporters, including elderly and women, celebrated her candidacy with garlands and chants of 'Vinesh Phogat zindabad.'

The Congress announced its candidate list on Friday, featuring Phogat and Olympian Bajrang Punia, both who had protested against former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Phogat emphasized community support, stating her country stands by her against Singh's allegations of being used as political pawns.
