Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has suggested that India and China could play crucial roles in finding a solution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Her statement came after discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Meloni's remarks, made in Cernobbio, Italy, echoed Russian President Vladimir Putin's earlier comments that named India, Brazil, and China as potential mediators. Meloni stressed the importance of not abandoning Ukraine and reaffirmed Italy's unwavering support for Kyiv.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also visited Kyiv recently, emphasizing India's commitment to peace and offering to mediate between the conflicting parties. Modi's visit marked a significant diplomatic move, being the first by an Indian prime minister to Ukraine since 1991.
