BJP MP Jyotiramay Singh Mahato has leveled serious accusations against the West Bengal government, alleging misuse of state-run hospitals to shield corrupt Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders from legal scrutiny. In a letter addressed to Union Health Minister J P Nadda, Mahato claimed that hospitals such as SSKM have repeatedly been used to obstruct justice.

Mahato pointed out that government-run medical institutions, meant for providing care, are instead serving to protect TMC leaders entangled in scandals like the Teacher's Recruitment Scam and the Saradha chit fund scam. He cited instances where these individuals ended up in hospital VIP wards under dubious circumstances to evade legal proceedings.

The MP further accused health officials of tampering with evidence in the recent rape and murder case of a young doctor at R G Kar Medical College. Mahato's letter references a leaked memo which revealed attempts to tamper with evidence and cover up the crime, demanding that Union Minister Nadda launch a thorough investigation into these allegations.
