Senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda has launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led government in Haryana, alleging widespread drug abuse and numerous deaths due to overdoses during its tenure.
Hooda, addressing social organizations at his residence, claimed the previous Congress administration ensured a prosperous Haryana, while the current regime has turned it into 'Udta Haryana.' He asserted that the government has failed to ban drugs or act against smugglers, leading to over one lakh hospitalizations annually due to drug abuse and more than 400 deaths statewide during the BJP rule.
The former chief minister alleged that 13 out of 22 districts are heavily impacted, with synthetic drugs openly sold and no action against traffickers, suggesting governmental protection for the drug trade. Hooda vowed to tackle drug addiction, crime, and unemployment if Congress wins the October 5 assembly polls. Polling will be held on October 5, with results announced on October 8.
