The urgent meeting, held at the Chief Minister's bungalow, focused on critical decisions regarding recent attacks on civilians by armed men from elevated hill areas.

There is also a possibility that the legislators, along with Singh, might meet the governor to discuss the situation, though this has yet to be confirmed.

In related developments, five persons were killed in fresh violence in Jiribam district. One person was shot dead while asleep, and four others were killed in an exchange of fire between two warring communities.
