Pakistan PM Stresses Peace on Defence Day
Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need for peaceful relations with neighboring countries and highlighted the connection between peace and progress while commemorating Defence and Martyrs Day. Army chief General Asim Munir underscored the importance of unity between the military and the public. New warships were also inducted into the Pakistan Navy.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday emphasized the country's commitment to peaceful relations with all neighbors, asserting that peace and progress are 'intertwined' while addressing Defence and Martyrs Day in Islamabad.
Sharif highlighted that Pakistan has no intentions of aggression against any country and reiterated the nation's commitment to its sovereignty and independence. He also commended the country's role in promoting regional stability.
The event saw attendance from top military and governmental officials, including Army Chief General Asim Munir, who stressed that political differences should not escalate into hatred. Munir affirmed the strong bond between the military and the public as crucial for national unity, particularly in times of crisis. Separately, the Pakistan Navy inducted two new warships, enhancing maritime security.
