National Conference leader Omar Abdullah on Friday accused the BJP-led central government of undermining his electoral campaign in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections by fielding multiple independent candidates against him.
Addressing election rallies in the Ganderbal Assembly segment, Abdullah recalled a previous scenario during the Baramulla Lok Sabha elections where a jailed candidate defeated him. He believes the current situation is another attempt by Delhi to silence him, pointing to a jailed individual contesting from Ganderbal as an example.
Abdullah asserted that this pattern is no coincidence and is a deliberate conspiracy orchestrated against him. He accused Delhi of specifically targeting him among all politicians in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in Kashmir. He emphasized that his fight is for the entire region and criticized BJP's efforts to undermine his influence.
