The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) achieved a significant milestone by registering one crore members in just three days as part of its 2024 membership drive. The party announced this achievement through a video on social media platform X, stating, "one crore and counting, 'ye toh bs shuruaat h'.. ."

The video highlighted the collective effort behind reaching this milestone, and emphasized that this is just the beginning. On Thursday, Union Minister and BJP president JP Nadda handed over membership renewal certificates to veteran leaders Murli Manohar Joshi and LK Advani in Delhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the new membership drive on September 2 during the 'Sanghatan Parva, Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024', renewing his own membership. He asserted that the drive is not just a ritual but an expansion of the BJP family and an ideological movement aimed at introducing a new political culture in the country.

"Another round of 'Sadasyata Abhiyan' is beginning today. From Bharatiya Jana Sangh till now, we have made all possible efforts to bring a new political culture in the country," said Modi. He also highlighted the importance of internal democracy within political organizations, linking the drive with the implementation of 33% reservation in Legislative Assemblies and Parliament. The membership drive is divided into two phases, aiming for comprehensive national reach.
