Senior YSRCP leader and former Bapatla MP, Nandigam Suresh, was apprehended by Andhra Pradesh police near Hyderabad in the early hours of Thursday. His arrest is linked to a 2021 attack on the TDP office.

According to Guntur district superintendent of police, S Satish, Suresh was detained at Manchirevula near Narsingi around 1 am. The incident relates to an attack on the TDP headquarters in Mangalagiri, wherein several YSRCP cadres allegedly ransacked the office over derogatory remarks by TDP's Pattabhiram Kommareddy against then-chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Following his arrest, Suresh was transferred to the Mangalagiri police station in Guntur district and charged under various legal sections, including attempted murder. He is scheduled to appear in a local court on Thursday. The police continue to search for other individuals involved in the attack.
