Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, one of Ukraine's most recognizable faces on the international stage, submitted his resignation Wednesday, signaling a major government reshuffle. Russian strikes, notably in Lviv, killed seven people a day after one of the deadliest missile attacks since the war began.
Kuleba, 43, did not specify his reasons for stepping down. Parliamentary Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk announced that Kuleba's resignation will be discussed during the next parliamentary session. Four other Cabinet ministers also tendered their resignations on Tuesday, making this the largest Cabinet reshuffle since Russia's February 2022 invasion.
President Zelenskyy previously indicated a reshuffle was imminent, essential for maintaining Ukraine's morale amid ongoing war and preparing for another challenging winter. Zelensky's goal includes ensuring western support and bolstering Ukraine's defense capabilities as Russian President Vladimir Putin continues to intensify the conflict.
