Linda Sun, a former New York state official who served under both ex-Governor Andrew Cuomo and current Governor Kathy Hochul, has been charged with acting as an undisclosed agent for the Chinese government, federal prosecutors revealed in an extensive indictment.

Sun and her husband, Chris Hu, were arrested Tuesday morning at their $3.5 million Long Island home. They are set to appear in court on Tuesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Attorney's office in Brooklyn.

Prosecutors allege Sun blocked Taiwanese officials from high-level meetings in New York and manipulated governmental messaging to align with Chinese priorities. Her husband faces charges of money laundering and bank fraud. In exchange for their services, they reportedly received benefits, which facilitated luxury purchases including a $1.9 million condo in Hawaii and a 2024 Ferrari.
