Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has requested clarity from the Congress administration regarding a BJP-submitted petition demanding Minister Priyank Kharge's removal from the Cabinet. The petition alleges that land was improperly allocated to a trust operated by Kharge's family, including his father and Congress President M Mallikarjun Kharge.

Responding on Monday, Priyank Kharge confirmed that the Governor has sought an explanation from Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh. Kharge criticized Gehlot for his supposedly rapid action on complaints against Congress leaders while moving sluggishly on those against BJP and JD(S) leaders.

Kharge claimed that the Governor's office displays alacrity when the BJP benefits but delays action on documents implicating BJP-JD(S) leaders. Additionally, he noted pending petitions against leaders from these parties and questioned the Governor's impartiality.
