The CPI(M) in Kerala has thrown its support behind actor and MLA M Mukesh, asserting that he doesn't need to resign from his legislative position despite a registered rape case against him.

At a recent press conference, CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan highlighted that numerous MPs and MLAs nationwide, including from the BJP, Congress, TDP, and AAP, have also faced similar accusations without stepping down.

Govindan emphasized giving Mukesh a chance to prove his innocence and noted that should the actor be found guilty, the party would take appropriate action, including ensuring no special treatment during the investigation.
