The Akal Takht has declared Shiromani Akali Dal Chief, Sukhbir Singh Badal, guilty of religious misconduct for decisions made during his tenure as deputy chief minister from 2007 to 2017. The announcement was made by the five high priests of the Shri Akal Takht on Friday.
Reading the order, Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht, Giani Raghbir Singh, stated that Badal, along with his cabinet ministers, needs to submit written explanations within 15 days. He added that the decisions taken during Badal's tenure have harmed the image of 'Panthak Swaroop,' affecting Sikh interests severely.
The Chief Priest emphasized that both Badal and his partner Sikh Cabinet Ministers must appear before the Takht and seek forgiveness for their actions. In response, Badal accepted the order on his social media platform and stated that he would soon present himself before the Akal Takht Sahib.
