Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Friday accused the Congress government in Telangana of being intimidated by the AIMIM party regarding actions against educational institutions built in restricted zones.
Speaking against the backdrop of a state government drive on encroachments of lakes and government properties in Hyderabad, Kumar labeled the government's efforts as 'high drama' meant to divert attention from the issue of crop loan waivers. He alleged that the AIMIM leader, Owaisi, had admitted to constructing buildings on a water body.
Kumar stated that the Congress government is 'timid' and succumbs to AIMIM warnings. He argued that illegal buildings of other educational institutions are being demolished while Owaisi's institutions are spared, accusing Congress of minority appeasement. Suggesting that BJP would have used 100 bulldozers to raze Owaisi's colleges, Kumar expressed confidence in the BJP's victory in the 2028 Telangana Assembly elections. He also referenced past incidents involving BRS and Congress leaders.
