The ruling Aam Aadmi Party has presented 33 candidates across 11 out of 12 zones, excluding the Keshav Puram zone. Prem Chauhan and Tilotma Chaudhary, two prominent AAP figures, had approached the Delhi High Court to request the rescheduling of election dates but were unsuccessful.
Chauhan is running for standing committee member from South Delhi zone, while Chaudhary is contesting for deputy chairman of the ward committee in Najafgarh Zone. The opposition BJP has fielded 30 candidates in 10 zones, while the Congress, with only nine MCD councillors, has fielded candidates in Shahdara South Zone.
