The Tunisian administrative court has upheld an appeal by prominent politician Imed Daimi, clearing the way for his return to the presidential race anticipated on Oct. 6, Daimi has confirmed.
Daimi's reinstatement marks the third such decision by the court, following similar rulings for Abdellatif Mekki and Mondher Znaidi. Both Mekki and Znaidi had initially been rejected by the Election Commission due to insufficient endorsements.
The court's decision could significantly alter the dynamics of the upcoming election, as Daimi, Mekki, and Znaidi rejoin the field of candidates vying for Tunisia's highest office.
