Former Union HRD Minister M M Pallam Raju has condemned the recent demolition of his brother's sports venture, ORO Sports Village, in Hyderabad, alleging it was done without prior notice and ignored existing permissions.

Raju, a senior Congress leader, expressed anguish over the tarnishing of a family's three-generation-long public service record.

The demolition was part of a crackdown initiated by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRA) to address alleged encroachments on government properties, including lakes and other violations.

Raju highlighted that ORO Sports Village, operational since 2015, was entirely funded by his brother Anand and described the act as unjust. HYDRA has also taken action against other high-profile properties in the city.
