Odisha MLA Himanshu Sekhar Sahoo has requested heightened security at his office and residence amid fears of politically motivated attacks. Sahoo, representing the Dharmasala constituency, addressed a formal letter to Jajpur Collector P Anvesha Reddy outlining his concerns.
Citing an incident on August 24 where armed individuals assaulted his office staff in Jaraka and fired shots to intimidate, Sahoo emphasized the urgency for increased protection. An FIR has been registered at Dharmasala police station.
Sahoo, who transitioned to the BJP after winning as an independent candidate, expressed frustration over the inability to apprehend the culprits even after several days. He reported a persistent state of fear and trauma among himself and his staff.
