BJP MLC Demands Resignation of Minister Priyank Kharge over Land Allotment Controversy

BJP MLC Pratapsimha Nayak has called for the resignation of Minister Priyank Kharge over alleged land allotment to a trust run by Kharge's family. BJP MLC Pratapsimha Nayak on Wednesday demanded the resignation of Minister Priyank Kharge, accusing him of improperly allotting land to a family-run trust.

Nayak, addressing reporters, asserted that Kharge, the Minister for Electronics, IT/BT, and Rural Development & Panchayat Raj, exerted undue influence to secure a Civic Amenity (CA) site for Siddhartha Vihar Trust, linked to Kharge's relatives.

Labeling the allotment a 'scam,' Nayak highlighted that the Siddaramiah-led government was precarious and preoccupied with self-preservation strategies amidst the situation. The BJP has petitioned the Karnataka Governor demanding Kharge's ousting from the Cabinet. In response, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah defended the land allocation, stating it was lawful.
