Prime Minister Narendra Modi has confirmed his attendance at the upcoming BRICS Summit in Kazan, taking place from October 22-24. This marks the first summit of the expanded BRICS grouping, which now includes Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
The confirmation came during a telephonic conversation between Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin, as reported by state-owned Tass news agency. The leaders discussed the implementation of trade agreements reached during Modi's visit to Moscow in July.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress of BRICS cooperation. As Russia currently chairs BRICS, the summit will be held in its southwestern city of Kazan, marking a significant milestone for the 10-member bloc.
