PM Modi's Milestone Visit to Singapore: Strengthening Trade Ties and Investment
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Singapore on September 4. This significant visit aims to bolster trade, investment, and strategic partnerships between India and Singapore, marking an important step in bilateral relations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Singapore on September 4, marking his first trip to the city-state in six years, as disclosed during a press briefing by Secretary East in the Ministry of External Affairs, Jaideep Mazumdar.
"Trade and investment underscore the significance of PM Modi's visit to Singapore. Singapore is India's largest trade partner within ASEAN and a major source of Foreign Direct Investment," Mazumdar stated. The Prime Minister will address CEOs during his visit, emphasizing India's economic narrative.
Since 2000, Singapore has contributed an accumulative FDI of $160 billion to India. Mazumdar highlighted that this visit comes at an opportune moment as both nations celebrate milestone anniversaries in their diplomatic relations and strategic partnership. MoUs in innovative sectors like digitization and sustainability are expected to be exchanged.
