Narendra Modi Leads BJP's Charge in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will spearhead the BJP's campaign for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, the first since the state's reorganization in 2019. A list of 40 prominent BJP campaigners, including top ministers and regional leaders, has been submitted to the Election Commission for this crucial electoral exercise.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lead the BJP's campaign in the forthcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. This marks the first democratic exercise in the region since it was reconstituted as a Union Territory in August 2019.
In addition to Modi, the BJP's list of 40 star campaigners for the first phase includes heavyweights like Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP national president J P Nadda, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The list was submitted to the Election Commission by the party.
Other notable figures in the campaign include Union ministers Nitin Gadkari, Manohar Lal Khattar, G Kishan Reddy, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Jitendra Singh. Former union ministers Anurag Thakur, Smriti Irani, and General (Retd.) V K Singh, along with Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Jai Ram Thakur, will also participate. The assembly elections are scheduled for September 18, 25, and October 1, with vote counting on October 4.
