Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign has successfully raised $540 million for its electoral battle against former President Donald Trump.
The surge in donations followed President Joe Biden's announcement ending his campaign and endorsing Harris. Significant contributions were recorded during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, where Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, accepted their nominations.
Campaign chair Jen O'Malley Dillon highlighted that one-third of the contributions came from first-time donors, with young voters and women making up a substantial portion. Trump's campaign, while also strong, has not matched Harris' fundraising momentum.
