The Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party announced on Saturday that it will not form pre-poll alliances with any other parties for the forthcoming Assembly elections. The party plans to contest independently on 60 seats.

"We do not have an alliance with any party. We will neither support any party, nor take support from any other party. We are not a part of any camp," party chief Altaf Bukhari stated during a press briefing after launching his campaign from the Chanapora Assembly seat.

Bukhari disclosed that the Apni Party will field 40 candidates from Kashmir and 20 from the Jammu division. He also remarked on the NC-Congress alliance's inclusion of multiple parties, some openly and others covertly. The elections will take place in three phases: September 18, 25, and October 1, with results announced on October 4.
