Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday expressed his eagerness to visit India, seeing it as a linchpin in global diplomatic efforts to halt the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia.
Describing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kyiv as historic, Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of India aligning with Ukraine. Modi's visit, the first by an Indian PM since Ukraine's independence, came shortly after his summit talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
During their bilateral talks, Zelenskyy urged Modi to leverage India's influence to end the conflict, highlighting India's historical commitment to peace.
