Seven Candidates File Nominations for Kashmir Assembly Seats
Seven candidates filed nominations for various Assembly seats in Kashmir, set for polls on September 18. Nominees include members from National Conference, People's Democratic Party, Apni Party, and an independent candidate. Last date for nominations is August 27. Eight Jammu region seats will also go to polls in the first phase.

Seven candidates have submitted their nominations for different Assembly seats in Kashmir, slated for the first phase of polling on September 18, according to officials.
The candidates include representatives from the National Conference (NC), People's Democratic Party (PDP), Apni Party, and an independent candidate.
Former Jammu and Kashmir minister Sakina Itoo of the NC filed her nomination from Damhal Hanji Pora in Kulgam district. Mohammad Sartaj Madni and Mehboob Beg from the PDP have filed from Devsar and Anantnag seats, respectively.
Abdul Majeed Padder and Mohammad Altaf Mir of the Apni Party have submitted their nominations for Damhal Hanji Pora and Pampore, respectively.
Nazir Ahmad Laway of the People's Conference and independent Asif Nabi Dar have also filed nominations from Kulgam and Pulwama, respectively. Official sources confirmed that the deadline for filing nominations for the 16 Assembly constituencies in Kashmir valley is August 27. Additionally, eight seats from the Jammu region will also participate in the first phase of polling.
