Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently in judicial custody, has approved development projects worth Rs 7 crore for his New Delhi Assembly constituency, according to a statement released on Friday.

Despite being in jail, Kejriwal remains focused on the needs of Delhi's citizens. His office confirmed that the Rouse Avenue Court permitted the chief minister to proceed with development plans for his constituency.

Kejriwal urged his team to expedite the projects to ensure minimal inconvenience for the constituents. The allocated funds will cover roughly 50 development initiatives, including the establishment of a library, installation of CCTV cameras, gym equipment, streetlights, mobile vans, drainage systems, and road repairs.

The Chief Minister has been detained in Tihar jail since March 21 on charges related to the alleged excise policy scam. He had sought and obtained permission from the Rouse Avenue Court to release funds for pending development works in his constituency. The court had notified the Enforcement Directorate, which did not object to the proposal.
