US Pension Funds Eye Long-Term Investments in India
Five American pension funds managing over USD 1.8 trillion will visit India next week to explore long-term investment opportunities. In an effort to foster long-term investment partnerships between the United States and India, five American pension funds with assets exceeding USD 1.8 trillion will be visiting India next week.
The delegation, consisting of executives from these funds, will engage with Indian financial regulators such as the RBI and SEBI. They aim to gain insights into the burgeoning initial public offerings (IPO) market in the country.
US Consul General in Mumbai, Mike Hankey, highlighted that US pension funds have already invested over USD 50 billion in India, with an additional USD 4 billion from the Development Finance Corporation. He noted that the visit is part of the 'Mutual Futures Pension Fund Roadshow,' organized in collaboration with India's Ministry of Finance and the National Infrastructure Investment Fund.
