Sharad Pawar, president of the Nationalist Congress Party (SP), has declared that no one from his party is interested in being the Chief Minister candidate in the upcoming Maharashtra elections. Instead, Pawar emphasized the coalition's goal of enacting a change in government.
Pawar indicated that recent delays in seat-sharing discussions among MVA allies were due to a protest concerning the sexual abuse of two minor girls in Badlapur. These talks will now take place on August 27. The MVA coalition includes the NCP (SP), Shiv Sena (UBT), and Congress.
Addressing the issue of a CM face before the elections, Pawar insisted that internal unity and offering an alternative to the current Mahayuti government should be the primary focus. The MVA aims to finalize seat-sharing arrangements shortly, providing clarity to voters ahead of the elections scheduled before November-end.
