Rajnath Singh's Strategic US Visit Set to Enhance Defence Ties

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's four-day visit to the US aims to strengthen India-US global strategic partnership. Talks with Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan will focus on defence collaborations, including drone procurement and joint manufacturing projects. Singh will also engage with the US defence industry and the Indian community.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in the United States on Thursday for a four-day visit intended to bolster the comprehensive global strategic partnership between India and the US.

In Washington, Singh will engage in discussions with Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, addressing key issues such as India's plan to procure 31 MQ-9B Predator drones and the proposed joint manufacturing of Stryker infantry combat vehicles and GE F414 engines in India.

Highlighting the growing momentum in India-US relations, Singh will also preside over a high-level roundtable meeting with the US defence industry to explore ongoing and future defence collaborations, and he will connect with the Indian community during his stay.
