Union Minister Raksha Khadse announced on Thursday that only her father-in-law and former NCP MLC Eknath Khadse can reveal his plans regarding a potential re-entry into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In 2016, Eknath Khadse, a key figure in the BJP, had to step down as a minister in the Devendra Fadnavis government over alleged corruption charges. He later joined the NCP in 2020 after being denied a ticket in the 2019 assembly elections.
Khadse resigned as NCP MLC in April this year amid increasing rumors about his return to the BJP. However, no official move has been made. Raksha Khadse, Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development, stated, ''Only Nathabhau (as Eknath Khadse is popularly known) can speak about his timing to return to the BJP.'' Known for expanding BJP's influence in Maharashtra's rural areas, Eknath Khadse remains a significant figure in state politics.
