Speculation Surrounds Tamil Nadu Cabinet Reshuffle

Amidst strong speculation about a possible cabinet reshuffle later on Thursday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has denied receiving any information on the subject.

'I have not received any information,' stated the CM, accompanied with a smile, when asked about 'some information' regarding a cabinet shake-up.

Media circles on Thursday were rife with reports that the cabinet might be reshuffled ahead of the CM's US tour next week aimed at attracting investments to the state.

Discussions have also been ongoing about possibly elevating Stalin's son, Youth Welfare and Sports Development Minister Udhayanidhi, to deputy CM, although Stalin has said the timing isn't right. The ruling DMK party has been pushing for this move ahead of the next Assembly elections in 2026.

Regarding recent assertions by Union Minister L Murugan about a government-led function to launch a coin commemorating late DMK President M Karunanidhi's birth centenary, Stalin clarified that the Tamil Nadu government organized the event under the Central government's purview. He also mentioned that his upcoming US visit would involve several meetings, and results would be shared with the media later.
