AAP Councillor Vijay Kumar from Trilokpuri issued a public apology on Wednesday after self-nominating for the deputy mayor post, which he described as a 'mistake'.

'I am a Municipal Councillor from Trilokpuri and will remain so. I apologize to the top leadership, Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Durgesh Pathak, and Atishi for my mistakes,' Kumar stated on social media platform X.

Initially, Kumar, one among two 'rebel' candidates, accused AAP of pressuring him to withdraw his nomination. However, he now stands with the party and Delhi's Chief Minister during a politically tumultuous period.
