Over 100 lawyers from the Supreme Court Advocates On Record Association (SCAORA) have formally addressed their concerns in a letter to the Supreme Court secretary general. The letter, signed by 137 member lawyers, raises grievances about procedural difficulties encountered while filing cases, including slow notifications and defect corrections.

The lawyers pointed out that the apex court registry often takes a significant amount of time to cure defects once a matter is filed online and a diary number is assigned. Additionally, there are notable delays in verifying a case after it's filed, further exacerbating the process.

The representation emphasized the necessity of standard operating procedures that would include timely email notifications whenever defects are spotted in petitions. They also highlighted delays in updating scanned copies of document records pertaining to petitions, stressing the urgent need for improvements.
